Confession Time

I have a confession.

As a life-long fan, born and raised a Buckeye who bleeds scarlet and gray every Saturday in the fall, I must confess I am in love with the University of Notre Dame.

Okay, it’s out there now! I have no doubt I will never hear the end of this from family and friends near and far, but it is in writing now for all to see.  However, just to clarify, I am and will always be a Buckeye.  I just have a soft spot in my heart now for the “tiny” little campus in South Bend, Indiana.

I also love learning and would go back to school if I had the opportunity and of course money!  The University of Notre Dame would be my first choice.

The campus of the University of Notre Dame is special.  It is like stepping back in time to another era.  The campus is beautifully kept and the architecture reminds me of being at Hogwarts. (Yes, I also love Harry Potter!)

Look at all the detail and artistry in this building.

The first time I visited was in the fall when my son was touring colleges. Even though it was a grey day, the beauty of the campus still stood out. It was also football weekend, and the excitement in the air resonated throughout the campus.  Every volunteer or employee we came into contact with was helpful and genuinely excited to be a part of the university.

A look at Notre Dame from above. When you’re walking on campus, surrounded by the beautiful architecture and immaculately kept grounds, you sometimes feel as if you’ve been transported to another time and place.

I visited most recently on a beautiful August day before school started and students began returning.  Although not ideal timing for picture taking, I was beyond excited to walk through the campus again and even capture some aerial footage.

The House Rockne Built
The house Rockne built. Even this Buckeye is in awe of the history and tradition housed in this building, all overseen by “Touchdown Jesus.”

There are many beautiful college campuses across this country.  I have yet to be able to visit Harvard or even Yale, but I have a feeling it would need to leave quite an impression for me to move the University of Notre Dame from the top of my list.

College Football “kick off” week!

One of my favorite times of the year!  Where is your favorite campus?  Why is it so special to you?  I’d love to hear! Comment below!
